JavaScript is required to calculate. Explanations and source limitations below remain available; no inputs are submitted to a server.
Your estimate
Start with your assumptions
Enter a gross amount or target net payout and confirm the selected fee terms, then calculate. Editing an input clears the previous estimate.
USD only. Combined rates must be below 100%. Fees exceeding gross produce an error. Inputs stay in this page’s memory; no amounts are sent to a server, stored or added to URLs.
Official preset evidence and limitations
2 of 3 provider presets on this page are disabled. Published fee candidates and verified calculation behavior are separate evidence. Disabled Level C records have unresolved applicability or unsupported behavior. Level B uses published rates and explicit site rounding; Level A requires documented provider behavior and independent policy review.
- Online card payment / Online domestic US-issued card; no manual entry or conversion / Stripe US Standard pricing; no custom or negotiated pricing: Level B — published-rate estimate.
- International card payment / Online / Account pricing not reviewed: Level C — disabled. Official pricing page retrieved; exact account/channel/plan scope and any material additions lack a completed applicability/model review. No domestic/base rate is reused.
- Payment involving currency conversion / Online / Account pricing not reviewed: Level C — disabled. Currency conversion is outside the engine model. Published conversion surcharge does not verify an executable conversion rule or rounding; independent audit is pending.
What this Stripe fee estimate includes
The published-rate option covers Standard US domestic online card receipts in USD. It excludes manually entered and international cards, currency conversion, Terminal, custom pricing and optional products. Confirm the listed scope before calculating; a standard card rate is not a quote for every Stripe service.
Processing fees are different from bank payout costs
The net shown here is gross minus the modeled processing fee. It does not reconstruct your bank deposit: payout services, refunds, disputes, tax and other account adjustments are outside the calculation. Compare the receipt and your account agreement before using an estimate for a quote.
How the fee and net receipt are calculated
For the supported additive model: fee = rounded percentage of gross + fixed charge; net = gross − fee. Effective rate = fee ÷ gross × 100. A zero gross has no defined effective rate. A fee exceeding gross produces an error rather than a hidden negative payout.
Published-rate options are Level B estimates. They round the percentage once to the nearest cent, half-cent ties upward, then add fixed cents. Provider-specific rounding and fee order are not verified. Custom mode also offers half-even as your own convention.
Reverse mode finds the smallest gross in integer cents whose modeled net meets the target, and checks the preceding cent. That minimum is not a guarantee of provider acceptance or permission to surcharge a customer. FX, caps, tiers, thresholds and separately rounded or cascading charges are unsupported.
Worked fee and reverse examples
Each row uses $100.00 gross and a separate $100.00 target net. Values are generated by the tested calculation engine, using the stated convention. These published-rate examples are estimates for the enabled scenarios only, not exact provider charges.

Frequently asked questions
Does this calculate international Stripe card fees?
No international preset is enabled. The domestic option excludes international cards and conversion. Custom mode accepts your own additive rate assumptions, but cannot model exchange rates or prove that additional charges use the same fee base.
How much should I charge to receive a target amount?
Select the minimum-gross reverse mode and enter your target net in USD. The tool searches integer cents and checks that one cent less would miss the target under the selected model. It does not establish provider acceptance limits or permission to pass a fee to a customer.
Is the rounding on this page Stripe's documented policy?
No. The Level B estimate uses the site's half-up convention: round the percentage of gross once to cents, then add fixed cents. Stripe's rounding/order is not verified by the reviewed pricing page; your statement can differ.
Can I use negotiated Stripe pricing?
Choose advanced custom mode and enter the applicable percentage and fixed charge from your agreement. Caps, tiers, separately rounded fees and cascading bases are unsupported; do not replace them with an unexplained average rate.
