Your estimate
Start with your assumptions
Enter a gross amount or target net payout and confirm the selected fee terms, then calculate. Editing an input clears the previous estimate.
USD only. Combined rates must be below 100%. Fees exceeding gross produce an error. Inputs stay in this page’s memory; no amounts are sent to a server, stored or added to URLs.
Official preset evidence and limitations
0 of 4 provider presets on this page are disabled. Published fee candidates and verified calculation behavior are separate evidence. Disabled Level C records have unresolved applicability or unsupported behavior. Level B uses published rates and explicit site rounding; Level A requires documented provider behavior and independent policy review.

Match the PayPal payment method, not just the invoice label
Checkout, Send/Receive Money for Goods and Services, invoice via PayPal Checkout and invoice via standard credit/debit card are separate enabled scenarios. An invoice paid by a different wallet, Pay Later or ACH is outside these presets. The general advertising page's starting card price is not substituted for an invoice's standard-card row.
Domestic means the parties' markets, not just USD
These presets require a US-resident PayPal account and both parties identified by PayPal as residents of the US market, with USD received. Receiving dollars does not make an international payment domestic. International additions, conversion, special tariffs, disputes, refunds and invoice subscription charges are excluded.
How the fee and net receipt are calculated
For the supported additive model: fee = rounded percentage of gross + fixed charge; net = gross − fee. Effective rate = fee ÷ gross × 100. A zero gross has no defined effective rate. A fee exceeding gross produces an error rather than a hidden negative payout.
Published-rate options are Level B estimates. They round the percentage once to the nearest cent, half-cent ties upward, then add fixed cents. Provider-specific rounding and fee order are not verified. Custom mode also offers half-even as your own convention.
Reverse mode finds the smallest gross in integer cents whose modeled net meets the target, and checks the preceding cent. That minimum is not a guarantee of provider acceptance or permission to surcharge a customer. FX, caps, tiers, thresholds and separately rounded or cascading charges are unsupported.
Worked fee and reverse examples
Each row uses $100.00 gross and a separate $100.00 target net. Values are generated by the tested calculation engine, using the stated convention. These published-rate examples are estimates for the enabled scenarios only, not exact provider charges.

Frequently asked questions
Does Goods and Services include Checkout's fixed fee?
No. The enabled Send/Receive Money for Goods and Services option follows the official percentage-only row and models no fixed addition. It does not inherit the Checkout fixed fee and does not apply to every PayPal commercial product.
Why can two PayPal invoice estimates differ?
The settlement method determines which published row applies. Invoice via PayPal Checkout and invoice via standard card have distinct percentages. Select the actual method; other wallets, advanced card processing, Pay Later and ACH are excluded from these scoped options.
Can this estimate fees for friends-and-family payments?
These presets cover the listed commercial receipts, not personal payments. Do not use a Goods and Services estimate as a personal-transfer tariff or choose a different payment type solely to match a desired fee.
Will the estimate match my PayPal statement exactly?
Not necessarily. Published components and narrow applicability are confirmed, but rounding/order is a disclosed site assumption. Extra products, account terms or unsupported conditions may change the actual charge; inspect the sources and compare your agreement.
Official pricing sources and limitations
Check the official pricing alongside the exact scope shown in the calculator. Optional products, account-specific terms and excluded transactions can change what you pay. No provider rounding verification or effective date is inferred from these pages.
